September 17, 2020, Brazos Valley Cheese, 206 Halbert Lane, in Waco (254-723-4777), is the only cheese company in Texas with an underground cheese cave, which is where they age their award-winning, artisan cheeses. After touring and shopping at the facility, we will dine at Ninfa’s, 220 S. 3rd ST, in Waco (254- 757-2050) for legendary Mexican food. If time allows, we’ll stop off at the Country Spring Vineyards at 1685 Country Spring Rd. in Lorena (254-366-2681). A sign-up sheet will be available at the 9/3 monthly meeting for those wishing to attend. We will carpool from the Hobby Lobby parking lot at 9:00 a.m.

October 15, 2020  Today we’ll tour the Altman Plants facility located at 1180 Private Rd. 2906 in Giddings (979-542-1165). Altman Plants services many of our country’s leading national retailers, supermarkets, independent nurseries, and supplies the nation with quality live cacti, succulents, annuals, perennials, and more. Afterwards, we’ll push on to a favorite of our club members, the Antique Rose Emporium at 10000 FM 50 in Brenham (979-836-5548). Lunch, for our program chair at least, will be at the Blue Bell Creameries, 1101 South Blue Bell Rd. in Brenham (800-327-8135). If time allows, we will drive to The Fern Plantation, 16240 Hartman Rd. in Magnolia (281-733- 5564). A sign-up sheet will be available at the 9/3 and 10/1 monthly meetings. We will leave the Hobby Lobby parking lot at 8:00am sharp!

November 19, 2020  Today, we’re travelling to the Lake Austin Spa Resort, 1705 S. Quinlan Park Rd. in Austin (512-372-7300) where Molly Pikarshy will talk on Xeric Landscaping. Afterwards, we will lunch onsite. Leaving the resort, we’ll tour Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve, 3505 W. 35th St. in Austin (512- 974-6700). Mayfield Park was originally built in the 1870’s. It is an historic cottage, gardens, and nature preserve in west Austin on a bluff overlooking Lake Austin. A sign-up sheet will be available for this outing at the 10/1 and 11/5 monthly meetings. We will leave the Hobby Lobby parking lot at 9:00am.

December 17, 2020, Christmas Social:  Grab your prettiest holiday face mask! Let’s socially distance and raise a glass of cheer at Denise Hilburn’s house in Georgetown from 11:00am to 2:00pm! All safety protocol measures will be followed! 

January 21, 2021, Card Making Activity:  Come join us as we make Valentine cards and floral arrangements for our annual Valentine party for the “young at heart.” We will meet from 11:00am to 2:00pm in the Community Room, 1101 N. College. Some supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own such as lace, rubber stamps and pads, stickers, glitter, etc. to create memorable works of art.

February 18, 2021 Lets “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” at the San Antonio Tulip Fields, 15122 FM 775 (S of I-10) in La Vernia (940- 440-0232). Entry fee is $5.00 and each bulb is $2.50. Discounts for seniors, students, and veterans. Lunch is TBD. A sign-up sheet will be available at the 1/7 and 2/4 monthly meetings. We will leave the Hobby Lobby parking lot at 8:00am.

March 25, 2021 We’re on our way to Dallas for the Dallas Blooms Festival at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Rd., Dallas (214-515-6615). For 30 years, the Dallas Blooms festival has offered one of the most spectacular floral displays in the world featuring 500,000 blooming Spring bulbs. Lunch will be provided onsite. You won’t want to miss this pilgrimage! More information and sign-up sheets will be provided at the 2/4 and 3/4 monthly meetings. We will leave the Hobby Lobby parking lot by bus at 7:00am to arrive at the Arboretum by 10:00am. We will leave the Arboretum at 2:00pm to arrive back in Georgetown at 5:00pm.

March 2021 Date/Time TBD, at home of member, Becky Williams. Planting succulent pots to sell at Poppy Fest booth.

April 15, 2021, Who wants to go berry picking? Our pilgrimage is taking us to Marble Falls to Sweet Berry Farms, 1801 FM 1980, Marble Falls (830-798-1462). Afterwards, it’s lunch at the Bluebonnet Café, 211 US 281, Marble Falls (830- 693-2344) for home cooking and a piece of one of their legendary pies. After lunch, we’re headed to Backbone Nursery, the largest retail nursery in central Texas. Their address is 4201 FM 1980, Marble Falls (830-693-9348). Bringing a cooler for the berries (and the pie) is advised! A sign-up sheet will be available at the 3/4 and 4/1 monthly meetings. We will leave the Hobby Lobby parking lot at 9:00am.

May 20, 2021, We’re off to the Commodore Perry Estate, which is an elegant hotel with an art nouveau restaurant, a chapel, and 20 acres of gardens at 4100 Red River Street, Austin, TX (866-976-4312). We will dine at Lutie’s Signature Garden restaurant which is located onsite. Leaving the estate, we’ll travel to The Great Outdoors, 2730 S. Congress Ave, Austin (512- 448-2992 where I know you’ll find that perfect plant you can’t live without! Sign-up sheets will be available at the 4/1 and 5/6 monthly meetings. We will leave the Hobby Lobby parking lot at 9:00am.
